What You Need To Do:
Consider your business, what sort of internet presence do you want to project? Are you a small business owner that wants to expand your horizons beyond your city, State or even country limits?
Here are the steps to your success -
- What and how many pages do you want to start with?, Use this as a guide
- Every Web site has a homepage. It's the first page you see when you type in www.domainname.com and it is also called the "root" of your site. From your homepage you might have several links, "sub pages" such as About Us, Contact Us, Product. A flow chart of this scenario would like like this:
You can also have sub pages of a sub page (Flow chart, Right). For instance, under Product you might have several types of Products, each represented by it's own sub page:
The layout structure right would consist of 7 pages.
Working out what pages you want on your site will save time, give you and I a good foundation to work from and give you a good idea on what the approximate cost will be.
- Name the pages in your flow chart, ie; under Product - Longsleves, shortsleves you want in your site.
- What do you want your pages to do for you? show your product in a gallery, order product from a form, sell your product directly off your site.
- Collect your site content.
- Images: That you would like to have on your pages, Named as they should be, img00011 isn't the same as white_large_long_sleeve_pullover, detailed, named images will be easier to find when it comes to putting your site together.
- Text: what you want your pages to say, If you have brochures, flyers or catalogs these are always a good way to have your sites page say exactly what you want because these documents are already a part of your business, these speed up the developement of your site too.
- How you want your website to look
Look at other websites and if you come across something that catches your eye, It doesn't have to be the entire site, colors, link styles, image layouts, bookmark the sites and make notes, when you have everything to need to get started, make that phone call
-
Fill out the web design quote request form. (It's a good idea to have the content (text and graphics) that you want to be included in your website assembled together so that you'll know what type of website you need.)
- We will contact you to pin down the details of your project and provide you with a quote on your project.
- Once the client has approved of the quote, we'll type up a web design agreement which outlines the scope of the project.
- The client will need to return the web design agreement along with a 50% good faith deposit.
Once the deposit has been received, work will begin on your project.
- We usually design 2 or 3 mock web site designs based on client input and marketing materials.
The client chooses which design he/she likes best and advises of any changes he/she wants made.
- We stay in constant contact with the client on the progress of the site. Based on client input the site gets completed.
- After site completion, the client pays the remaining 50% balance.
